M&D Flugzeugbau was founded by pilots. Pilots work on aeroplanes here. That doesn't just sound sensible. It is effective and actually logical. Expertise is a matter of course in the aviation sector. The demands on development companies and aircraft manufacturers are extraordinarily high. Fulfilling them is an enormous challenge. Being able to fulfil them is our daily work.

There is perhaps something else that sets M&D Flugzeugbau apart from others. And that is the unconditional will to be part of a solution rather than part of a problem. M&D Flugzeugbau was founded by Tim and Rinelde Markwald - then still unmarried Rinelde Doden - as a pure maintenance company for gliders and small aeroplanes.

Founded by aviators, pilots and aircraft builders with a passion for flying and lightweight construction work here. This is where the pioneers of technologies that make heavy things light are to be found.

With the boom in wind power in the 2000s, more and more enquiries came from the energy sector. This is because M&D Flugzeugbau's expertise in lightweight construction, development and aerodynamics was of great relevance to these industries.

In 2015, the area of contract manufacturing for industrial customers was outsourced to M&D Composites, allowing M&D Flugzeugbau to continue to concentrate fully on its core business.
