Recoating

We provide you with a perfect repaint of your aircraft, from the incoming inspection of all components to the high-end finish.

The process begins with an inspection of your aircraft for obvious damage and an incoming weighing. This determines the reference value for the mandatory outgoing weighing. Your aircraft is then completely dismantled by our experienced specialists so that all components can be

All components to be repainted are mechanically stripped and the surface is checked for damage and cracks. This is followed by the application of a 2K filler. This is sanded and serves as a base for the final coat.

We use high-gloss Standox acrylic paint, Standofleet RAL 9003, for the new paintwork, which is sanded up to a grain size of P4000 to achieve a perfect surface. As a result, it only has very fine ‘grooves’ and the risk of new cracks forming is significantly reduced.

Simple finish - the cheaper alternative

All surfaces have what is known as ‘orange peel’ before the fine finish. This is sanded away during the finishing process and gives the aircraft a ‘high-end’ touch. However, the surface blurring is less pronounced with modern paintwork than in the past and may have to be accepted in certain circumstances - for example on training aircraft or heavily frequented club aircraft. Should the desire for a high-end finish arise at a later date, this can also be done at a later date.

Labelling and marking

Markings such as licence plates on the fuselage and wings, competition markings on the vertical stabiliser, cockpit ornamental strips, red static port markings or the national flag are foiled according to customer specifications, sealed with clear lacquer and sanded to P4000 with a seamless finish.
A colour warning paint can also be applied to the permitted areas according to customer requirements.

Cockpit Refresh

Does your cockpit need refurbishing after many hours of flying? We will be happy to redesign the instrument panel, including the cover, according to your wishes and paint it with Nextel in the colour of your choice.

We will repaint the interior with a textured paint that is hard enough to meet the requirements for seating surfaces. The control rods and all visible metal components (if removable) can also be recoated.

The interior leather can also be refurbished and redesigned at the same time.

Technical optimisations

If your aircraft has already been dismantled for repainting, further repairs and optimisations are possible.

If it becomes apparent after paint stripping that paint cracks in the old surface extend into the fabric, we recommend laminating with a layer of fabric. This fabric layer also reduces the risk of future paint cracking. As an increase in weight must also be expected with this type of measure, it should also be carried out strictly in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

If necessary, the rudder seal should also be sealed. At M+D, this is also carried out in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications and with the aim of achieving the best possible performance for your aircraft.

The elimination of spar sink marks and the restoration of airfoil integrity can also be useful additional measures.

Under certain circumstances, some aeroplanes may develop sink marks in the spar area after some time. As part of the repainting process, we remove these with thickened resin to minimise the risk of shrinkage. The profile fidelity can be optimised with profile templates provided by the customer or manufacturer.

Test documents

Before delivery, we prepare all the necessary test documents for checking all rudder weights and residual torques, weighing the individual parts and centre of gravity and issue the release certificate.
